Ich glaube nicht, dass es sich um ein Routing-Problem handelt, da das Pingen an eine Internet-IP oder an die DNS-IP (des VPN) normal zurückkommt.
Ich habe syslog überprüft, aber keine vpn-bezogenen Protokolle gefunden.
Ich habe einen anderen kostenlosen VPN-Anbieter ausprobiert und habe genau das gleiche Problem.
Ich habe immer wieder über Google gegraben, konnte aber keine verlässliche Antwort oder Spur finden. An diesem Punkt wird es insame, weil ich immer wieder die gleichen Tests mache und nicht weiß, was ich tun soll.

Kein Internet über OpenVPN-Verbindung -> Die Lösung besteht darin, 'push "dhcp-option DNS 8.8.8.8"' in die Serverkonf. Diese Option wird beim Starten des Clients in der Debug-Ausgabe angezeigt.
OpenVPN + iptables: Datenverkehr nicht weiterleiten -> es handelt sich um ein Serverproblem + iptables-Regeln.
(Gelöst) OpenVPN - Ubuntu Network Manager-Verbindung in Ordnung, aber nicht auflösend, nicht pingend, kein Internet -> diese sah sehr interessant aus, aber das DNS-Problem wurde mit dem Befehl dnsmasq auf dem vps gelöst.

Der OpenVPN-Server bietet keinen Zugang zum Internet -> keine Lösung bereitgestellt, aber ich denke, dies ist eher ein Problem mit iptables (Weiterleitungsoption) oder dem Server.
Ich habe eine Mail an beide VPN-Anbieter gesendet, aber nach mehr als 2 Tagen keine Antwort erhalten.

Skript hat unter Ubuntu 18.04 perfekt für mich funktioniert.Es ist erwähnenswert, dass irgendeine Form von NAT stattfinden muss , damit DNS (oder Internetdaten) über ein VPN funktioniert. Typischerweise:

Gleiches Problem hier mit Ubuntu 15 und OpenVPN 2.3.2: Die "DHCP-Option DNS 8.8.8.8" wird vom Client nicht berücksichtigt.
Meine Lösung bestand darin, das Network Management Framework (+ openvpn-Plugin) zum Einrichten des VPN zu verwenden. Aber auch hier wird die "DHCP-Option DNS" nicht berücksichtigt, so dass ich 8.8.8.8 manuell in "IPV4-Einstellungen / DNS-Server" hinzugefügt habe. Nur dann kann ich im Protokoll sehen:
