virt-what ist ein Shell-Skript, mit dem festgestellt werden kann, ob das Programm auf einer virtuellen Maschine ausgeführt wird.
Das Programm druckt eine aus Heuristiken abgeleitete Liste mit "Fakten" zur virtuellen Maschine aus. Eine Tatsache wird pro Zeile gedruckt.
Wenn nichts gedruckt wird und das Skript mit Code 0 beendet wird (kein Fehler), kann dies bedeuten, dass das Programm entweder auf Bare-Metal ausgeführt wird oder dass das Programm in einer Art virtueller Maschine ausgeführt wird, die wir nicht kennen oder nicht können erkennen.
